Blood
coagulation is the process whereby blood particles clump together
to form a clot. This normally occurs in response to injury
of a blood vessel and is the body's means of stopping bleeding
and repairing the injury. However, blood clots can also form
inside blood vessels or inside the heart, and can impede blood
flow. This can lead to heart attack or stroke.
