Parahippocampal Gryus

The parahippocampal gyrus is a subregion of the medial temporal lobes of the brain, and includes parts of the cerebral cortex that lie close to the hippocampus. 

Like the hippocampus, the parahippocampal  gyrus is important for new memory formation.
