  Ibuprofen

Ibuprofen is a drug that is widely used and prescribed as a painkiller. It is also used to treat some forms of arthritis. It is marketed under the trade names Advil, Motrin and Nuprin.

Like aspirin, ibuprojen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID); long-term use of NSAIDs can cause serious side effects, particularly in people who are taking anti-coagulant drugs to reduce risk of stroke.
