  Coagulation

Blood coagulation is the process whereby blood particles clump together to form a clot. This normally occurs in response to injury of a blood vessel and is the body's means of stopping bleeding and repairing the injury. However, blood clots can also form inside blood vessels or inside the heart, and can impede blood flow. This can lead to heart attack or stroke.
